All patients are different and have different needs. ADA recommends teeth cleanings at minimum every six months, but depending on your periodontal health, you may require more. Don’t be surprised if your dentist recommends 3 or 4 month cleanings. Your insurance may not cover that frequency, but the cost should be minimal compared to the benefit you will gain. And if you are a teacher in New York City UFT insurance covers you for four dental cleanings a year so take advantage!
